Different Ways to Quit Smoking
There are quite a few different ways a smoker can stop smoking and kick the bad habit. One of them, which is actually the best way requires a lot of will power. The story below is from a gentleman from Atlanta GA who's mother in law quit smoking years ago...
"My name is Fred and I'm from Atlanta and 61 yrs old. I'm a non smoker and actually, I have never tried a single cigarette in my life and I would like to see all smokers quit this nasty habit called smoking.
Since I met my wife's mother in 1967, I have known her as a smoker. I don't know how many she takes a day, but she was not a mild smoker. So she has been smoking for a very long time. In december 2006, she decided to quit but without telling anyone. She just made the decision almost at the end of the year, smoked her last one on december 31 2002 and on the morning of january 1st 2003, she took the 4 or 5 unopened packs of cigarettes she had along with the last opened one and her cigarette lighter, put everything in a plastic bag and trashed the whole thing..., as simple as that.
It took about 2 to 3 weeks for the rest of the family to notice that she had stopped smoking. Today, as I'm writing this, she is still a non smoker. I say she's a hero. She has done it all alone without any help what so ever:
no stop smoking products, no stop smoking program, no laser, no stop smoking shot or injection, no nicotine patches or gum, no help at all, just her will power.
The most amazing thing is that everybody else in the family smokes. When I say everybody, I mean it. Only the kids do not smoke. They are just in line anxiously waiting for their turn to become smokers. I call this family "The Smokey Family"
What I want to point out is that when I go to one of their family reunions, I suffer a lot from all that smoke, I don't know where to turn, where to hide, but my mother in law is not bothered at all. She sits next to a smoker without a problem and does not complain or feel any urge to start smoking again.
I really wish it was that easy for all smokers, but not everybody is the same. I guess it depends on metabolism. Each person behaves differently. This is why there are so many different options in Stop Smoking Products. Some work with some people and some don't. It becomes a trial and error situation where the smoker who wants to quit has to try a few and see which one best fits him/her.
I'm thankful to God that I never fell into the smoking Trap laid out by the Tobacco Companies."
